The Bulgarian community foundations apply a variety of techniques to attract and upgrade individual and corporate donors. In addition to maintaining ongoing communication on individual basis with the major donors, the community foundations regularly organize special events, such as philanthropic concerts, auctions, balls, and sports events, which engage donors from all walks of life, enable them to socialize and to meet with the funded organizations and the end beneficiaries. Some of these events are used for public reporting of the community foundation and for thanking donors.
